New Way to Blog
I have been MORE than bad at keeping up with this blog. It is no coincidence that staying at home with Izzy has caused me to forget to blog. Let's just say, we are living in the moment...
In order to make me feel productive AND keep everyone up-to-date on Izzy, I am going to start posting Flip videos. That way you get to see her as she is. I'll try to put in a few quick stories here and there, but for now you are going to be inundated with Izzy videos.

Izzy turns 2
For Izzy's birthday, we had a Yo Gabba Gabba theme party. It was so much fun! We had bean bag throw games of fruit and veggies into the character's tummies. Putt the eye on Muno and a Dancey Dance Party - complete with Gabba soundtrack and disco ball.
The kids, and especially Izzy, had an amazing time. No one even noticed that the cake was vegan -alright! The birthday girl had a great time with all her friends and was hyped up on sugar for hours to come.
Thankfully, the church let us use some space because our outdoor plan didn't gel with the weather plans... It turned out to be the perfect space. Enjoy the photos!!

Pop Pop's birthday and meeting Sutton Claire
We went to visit Pop Pop for his birthday and had a wonderful time. Especially since Julie and Sutton Claire came to celebrate with us! Izzy and Sutton were two perfect Carolina Girls. Can't wait until they are Chi Omegas together... Izzy will have to give her a Great White Owl.
Merry Christmas Izzy!
This year, Izzy really knew what Christmas was about. We read our Christmas story books - and she kept calling Mary "dada", as in: is she a dada? I guess women weren't snazzy dressers back in the day. She also loved the pictures of "baby" = Jesus. It was really adorable.
She also carried around her Santa or "Ho Ho," as she called him. Good thing she loved him so much, because he gave her quite a Christmas. Probably a little overboard, but Santa got some great deals this year.
We spend Christmas this year with the Kircus family. You'll see Izzy cuddling up with her cousins, John Gray and Reading. She also loved being with her Aunt Angie, Uncle Clayton (who wants to kidnap that baby) and Pop Pop and Gigi. She has warmed up to Pop Pop lately. He is the only one that she'll sit and listen too without getting too restless.
Without further or due - here are the pics!!

A Visit from Charlie and Jane
Isabel had figured out how to climb out of her crib. Well, really, she figured out how to get really mad at us and dive-bomb out of her crib. So, we had a problem on our hands. The solution? A big-girl bed! Yep, we converted her crib to a bed and Charlie and Jane visited us on the first night we used it.
She ended up loving it and now is the happiest little girl. The only problem now is getting her to quit playing in her room long enough to actually take a nap. (She normally reads in her bed. She also has a basket of stuffed animals that she takes out in her bed and puts back into the basket, repeatedly.)
My favorite part of the weekend was when Charlie started giving me some parenting advice. Now, I have to admit, Izzy rules the roost. We are working on that issue, but I told Jane to memorize Charlie's advice and be sure to repeat it back to them if they have a little girl. I'm sure - and you'll agree after the picture - that Charlie will not be wrapped around a little girl's finger at all... : ) (Did I mention that Izzy got Charlie to actually read her a story??)

Isabel's Christmas Party
Isabel had a Christmas party at school. They had a feast of chicken nuggets and put on a preview "Jingle Bells" show for us. We got to sit in circle time with them, although Isabel was stuck like glue to mommy most of the time. (She has hit that stage.) Her teachers gave her some fun gifts, including a new book! Isabel, who always likes to put things back together, tried to rewrap her present after she opened it. It will be interesting to see what she does with the paper Christmas morning.
Isabel takes the show
Isabel's Christmas Program at school was really fun. Her class started it off with Jingle Bells. Izzy loved her bells and danced all the way in, as you'll see in the video. She is the one in pigtails. Sorry for the quality. Our "nice" DVD recorder doesn't download the video files well. We had to use our digital camera for this one. Notice how she also claps for herself...
Afterward, she wanted to go up to the front for everyone else's songs, so I spent the rest of the program in the sanctuary narthex... trying to keep her entertained. She found a bowl of candy canes, that I finally had to give to the church secretary the bowl to hide. I thought four was enough. Call me crazy.
Thanks to all Izzy's classmates and teachers - Ms. April and Ms. Wendy!
